Has anyone read the Repairman Jack series by F. Paul Wilson. It was recommended to me and I think I may try it, but was looking for more feedback.
I read one, though I can’t recall off-hand which one. I liked it, enough that I probably would read another one, not quite enough to make reading one an urgent matter. I tend to remember books which disappointed me better than ones I liked, for whatever that’s worth.
I read a couple of them at the behest of a friend. I was kind of underwhelmed.
Mrs. Evil Captor is a big fan of the series. I’ll ask her why when I get a chance.
I’m definitely a fan. I’ve read several of them, including The Tomb, Nightworld, and All the Rage. I’ve fallen way behind, though…I know there are a bunch of them I haven’t read yet.
Jepairman Jack is a pretty cool character, but from a author’s universe viewpoint they are kind of wierd. The Tomb was originally written as a stand alone. Whe the author decided to write a series to follow up The Keep he ended up including characters from a couple of his other books, namely The Touch and The Tomb. So Nightworld has Repairman Jack in it, but it’s not a Repairman Jack Novel, but the last book in a trilogy that sequels The Keep. Several years later Wilson decided to write some more Repairman Jack stories, and began the series. All that was to the point that if you decide to start reading the books, maybe avoid Nightworld until you decide you want to read the rest of the books in that cycle.
Cool. Which one should I start with?
Good advice. Too late for me, though.
The Tomb. That’s the first one.
I love Repairman Jack. The RJ books are one of my favorite series.
