Anyone fancy a co-op Total War campaign?

Mine range from about 1.5 to 3.5 Mb.

I have no idea how to use an ftp, btw…fyi.

Now I better hope I have the latest patch or I’m gonna I have to get high speed internet over the weekend in order to download the latest patch. I’m not kidding I was planning on getting it anyway

But I think I’m okay: I’ve downloaded the latest patch after Kingdoms came out.

oh, the save files are small, I thought they might go into the 20 mb+ category and an FTP would have made it easy for us to log in with our browsers, download the save file, then upload once we are done, rinse, repeat.

So, just to be on the safe side, I’m down with uninstalling and then reinstalling, just to make sure nobody has any problems.

Co-op total war? What do you do, beat up on monkeys?

I’m running version 1.03, i.e. Patch 1.3. It’s a whopping 500 MB, though, so if this is a massive problem I can roll back to vanilla, out-of-the-box, although it might be a hassle with the expansion back n’all.

@ LOUNA; make sure you delete the game’s entry in the registry, otherwise it’ll still be patched on reinstallation.

Nope. We pass around the save file.

Mr. Kobayashi: Where in the fuck is that?

Uninstall your game first.
Then Start > Run > regedit.

Then find SEGA, the ‘Medieval II Total War’ file (which was in ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software’ for me, YMMV. You’ll notice it contains all the data about your patches and mods, which is why reinstalling the game doesn’t roll back the version) and delete it, which will get rid of every trace of the game on your computer (your save games will be intact, back them up first); it will reinstall as if it had never been on. Be careful mucking about in regedit though, you can seriously screw your system up if you start fiddling with the wrong stuff.

That’s if we end up going with vanilla M2TW. Hopefully most peoples games will be patched up to 1.3 anyway (if you’ve got Kingdoms, it is).

I’m without Kingdoms.

You can check what version you have by firing up the game and going to options; the version number is in the top right hand corner of the screen.

I have Kingdoms as well. I don’t believe the two saves are compatible, are they?

Not sure. A while ago I played a co-op Rome campaign, and it’s versions sure ain’t compatible. If everyone is at patch 1.3 it should work whether they’ve got Kingdoms or not (it also installs patch 1.2). The alternative is rolling back to vanilla.

A thought: We should test this.

Anything happening? LOUNE, have you started already?
