There was a 4.4 earthquake centered near Paducha, KY about 10 minutes ago. No links yet.

I always heard that Memphis, TN was on a fault line and could expect an earthquake at any time. I wonder if Paducah is on the same fault.

A light earthquake occurred at 12:37:32 PM (CDT) on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 .
The magnitude 4.4 event occurred 2 km (1 miles) SSE of 11 Brookport, IL.
The hypocentral depth is 4 km ( 3 miles).

A moderate earthquake occurred at 12:37:13 PM (CDT) on Tuesday, June 18, 2002 .
The magnitude 5.0 event occurred 9 km (6 miles) WSW of 71 Darmstadt, IN.
The hypocentral depth is 5 km ( 3 miles).

Paducah, Ky is near the north end of the New Madrid fault, centered near New madrid, Mo. Memphis isn’t far from the south end of the fault.
