Anyone feeling buyers remorse about Obama yet?

I love how the OP keeps claiming that 18 months of Obama shows that Democratic policies don’t work, when it was 8 years of Bush that pretty much proved to more than a simple majority of the nation that Republican policies are the finest of bullshit.

And I think unconditional support for Israel by the US does neither country any favors.

You’re shocked by a story you know virtually nothing about? Let me assure you that the Churchill bust (and the wrong-format DVD gift to Brown) were seen in the UK at worst as minor protocol faux pas (dammit, what’s the plural of “faux pas”) and at best a source of a few jokes. Obama could have put a whoopee cushion on Brown’s seat and he’d have improved his image with the British.

No, he’d have continued the arrogance.

Except that those that we were most arrogant to were the “traditional allies” you just mentioned.

The man responsible for the US PATRIOT Act?

True - it would have been the corporate execs instead.

Hard to say, although the Republicans have a history of simply handing over the money, not attaching any strings to it.

Both safe bets, although if you think the Sotomayor and Kagan are far to the left you have a skewed political outlook.

Yes, the country is so much worse off than it was a year and a half ago.

We’ll see.

It’s so **cute **when people think the Republicans are the party of small government and fiscal responsibility.

Very true, but probably not in the way that you mean.

Evil One: Did you experience “buyer’s remorse” after either the first or second Bush election?

Don’t take anything Shodan says seriously. He’s an admitted troll.

You. Remember how you said torture was widely regarded as being a highly effective interrogation technique? That’s false. Carrying Ann Coulter’s book everywhere you go does not make her opinions widely regarded.

Considering that the alternative was a man *so fucking senile *that he actually thought that *Sarah Palin *would make a good running mate?

Not remotely.

Sorry, what’s the question you are referring to, exactly?

The thread is not too long for you to reread in its entirety by your own self, in no more than a few hours. No one else here seems to be confused.

Didn’t read any of the quotes, did you? Or watch the vids.

You need to develop Diogenes’ knack for insisting that anything he doesn’t want to see, doesn’t exist.

Regards,
Shodan

Wait, is enthusiasm for a candidate the same as worship? Just asking.

Yes, if it’s a candidate you oppose.

It’s sort of like “judicial activism” in that respect.

Depends on how much of it is based on a cult of personality rather than agenda or likelihood of success. Depends on the amount of Kool-Aid drunk, IOW. One way to tell is the strenuousness with which other candidates are peremptorily denigrated for their audacity in challenging the one for whom the “enthusiasm” in question is shown.

Search GD for the word “bitch” for examples.

Do you think those you chide for “worshiping” Obama are representative of Obama supporters?

I must admit that I did worship the fact that Obama was not Bush.

So are 300 million other Americans, including several who ran for President.

“Cult of anti-personality” counts too.

My apologies, I guess I didn’t read it as carefully as others did. I thought the other question was about whether or not the SDMB Obama supporters were “worshippers”, but since you brought up the “Obama Country” thing (which is akin to a bumper sticker and nothing like excessive hero-worship) in relation to this questionable question, it must be something else. If I get a free few hours later I’ll see if i can re-read the thread and find a question that’s a reasonable answer to.

Somebody is STILL fighting the primary battle of 2008, I see…

Some STILL don’t grasp what the problem is, I see …
