I saw a report on Drudge last night that NBC news reported that the explosives were already missing when we captured Iraq, but I see no one else confirming it. Here is a further story today:

Anybody have details?

We’re discussing this in the other thread. The NBC report has some holes in it. The big one is that Lai Ling Jew, the embedded reporter who was with the 101st Airborne in April, 2003 when they arrived at Al Qa Qaa, said this this morning on MSNBC:
Amy Robach: Was there a search at all underway or did a search ensue for explosives once you got there during that 24-hour period?
Lai Ling Jew: No. There wasn’t a search. The mission that the brigade had was to get to Baghdad. That was more of a pit stop there for us. And, you know, the searching, I mean certainly some of the soldiers head off on their own, looked through the bunkers just to look at the vast amount of ordnance lying around. But as far as we could tell, there was no move to secure the weapons, nothing to keep looters away. But there was - at that point the roads were shut off. So it would have been very difficult, I believe, for the looters to get there.
This link has a pretty good breakdown of just how impossible it would have been for insurgents to sneak away with 380 tons of explosives. You may have a problem getting through on the link…Sean Hannity mentioned it on his radio show, and it got slammed with some heavy traffic. Give it a bit and keep trying.
They were already missing by the time our boys got there. The Old Gray Lady messed up, and NBC caught it.
Well after scanning the threads I finally came upon the one you’re talking about. I suppose this is another vote for changing that damn thread title. Mods: You can close this thread if you like, but please do change the thread title on the other.
