Anyone having trouble with the Peterson Strobe Clip display going dark?

Just bought mine last March. The display goes very dim or even totally dark while I’m trying to tune. Can’t see the darn strobe and can’t tune. Flicking it with my finger usually brightens it back up.

I’m not sure if others have experienced this or not. I just registered my product and then opened a ticket at the Peterson site. Hoping they’ll give good service on their warranty. Preferably a new tuner. I hope they don’t make me wait several weeks for this one to be repaired.

I’m wondering if mine is failing because I’m moving it around too much? I have two acoustics and one electric. The clip tuner gets moved between the three quite frequently. Maybe it would be better to have a tuner for each one? Never take it off the headstock?

:frowning: They want me to send the Peterson stroboclip tuner in for warranty repair. Crap. I can’t go several weeks without a tuner. Looks like I get to buy a 2nd one that I can use while this gets fixed.

So much for their super duper high quality tuners. I paid almost 6 times the price of a Snark Clip On hoping Peterson would be a quality product. Snarks are $14 and Peterson almost $80.

They mentioned trying a battery change. I just bought it 5 months ago. Shouldn’t be the battery.

Snark it, dude - I bought 6 and leave them lying around, in guitar cases, etc.

You like the Snark tuners? Yeah, at $15 it would be affordable to have five or six in my gig bags and at home. That’s an idea I need to consider.

btw, a new battery did fix my Peterson Stroboclip. I still can’t imagine how a brand new tuner bought last March went through a battery that quick. I only turn it on for maybe 5 minutes to tune and turn it off. those cr2032’s must not have much juice in them.
