Anyone know a good tax attorney?

Short version of the story: I owe a lot of back taxes to the (United States) IRS. I’m not trying to get out of paying what I genuinely owe, but I want to make monthly payments, and they’re asking for a lot more per month than I can handle. I’ve tried talking to their people by phone, and I think I’m at the point where I need professional help.

Problem is, there are thousands of tax attorneys advertising for my business, and I have no idea who is capable and trustworthy vs who are the scam artists. Has anyone used these guys? Any kind of advice anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I had a “surprise” $6200 tax due a few years back (the ex-wife and I did), and I paid it back on the 3 year plan after cutting a check for about a grand. You can’t have two installments running at the same time, so when I owed the NEXT year, I got a loan from the 'rents and paid off the balance on the first year, then got a new installment on the second year, paying both the 'rents and the feds at the same time. Tight cash flow, to say the least. I DO know a good tax CPA, who may be able to give some free advice. E-mail me if you want to ask him something.
