…a saline nasal gel? Ayr comes in a half-ounce tube and costs ~ $4-5
I thought somebody wanted a shorter spelling for a pirate sound. R matey!
A pediatrician friend of mine said that he tells patients they can simply snort salt water into their nose from their cupped palm.
Homemade saline is 1tsp. salt : 8oz water.
I can (and do) get that effect with Neilmed nasal rinse. But
it’s not enough.
Ayr soothes nasal tissue that - in my case - gets dried
out and injured from taking Oxygen ~24/7 by nasal canulae.
Try your grocery store. The local chain here, Market Basket, sells a 1.5 oz saline spray for $2 that is exactly the same as the brand name ones that the drug store sells for $4. The one you buy is a gel, though? I’ve never heard of it being a gel (medicated nasal sprays come in gels, but I’ve never seen a saline gel), so I’m not sure that’ll be in a store brand.
I was curious, so I googled “saline gel” and it appears that there are a handful of makers besides ayrs. Unfortunately, the cheapest - a Wal-greens product - doesn’t say how much it weighs. The others were more than $4 but were also a full ounce.
Thanks very much, elfkin, I’ll look into the hits.
