Anyone listen to Sabaton?

They’re a Swedish heavy metal band that mostly sings about historical things, primarily battles/wars fought in Europe.

Here are just a few of their songs I enjoyed.

Cliffs of Gallipolli(WW1)

Shiroyama(Battle of Shiroyama 1877)

Attero Dominatus (Battle of Berlin from the Soviet pov)

Light In The Black(UN peacekeepers)

Hearts of Iron (Evacuation of Berlin by the German 12th and 9th Armies)
The Lion from the North (King Gustavus Adolphus)

Poltava(Battle of Poltava, Sweden vs Russia)

1 6 4 8 (Battle of Prague)

I enjoy their music. Discovered them a few years back and they were right up my alley. I have most of their stuff in my winamp playlist and a bunch of my favorites among my driving music. I really dig how they back up the historical shtick with high quality metal and epic vocals. Too many bands out there trying to make it off a gimmick alone, not putting enough work into the sound.

I think the first time I heard a Sabaton song was when I watched the following video of “40:1” (about the Battle of Wizna) at the 2012 Woodstock festival:

These guys are outstanding performers, and for some reason this particular song gets me a little choked up every time I listen. I imagine the Polish captain motivating his troops by saying "In the future, power metal bands will sing songs of our glorious bravery!"

I also recently discovered another remarkably similar band called Civil War, whose similarity turned out to be due to the fact that most of the band are former Sabaton members.
