As for my having to back up the claim of WMD, where the hell did that enter the argument? If a president sends our men off to war under a premise of WMD it better be true! The “well it all worked out OK” reasoning is bullshit. What if it hadn’t? Do you suppose the folks who got loved ones back in body bags thought it went well?

Oh, I don’t know light. Maybe the fact that they are US property in hostile territory with US citizens in admin and control. POTUS is the CnC of the US army, and is solely responsible of all that goes on under his command. Meaning that no one else is, surely not said countries they may be visiting. Ask your husband who his ultimate superrior officer is.

ISTM I wasn’t refering to you in that post. Wouldn’t it be more prudent to assume I was talking about those who said they would claim to be Canadian and say they hate Bush just to appease others?

I never said you had to back up anything. I said you never proclaimed they had no WMD before. So to assert that it was somehow obvious and was a wrong reason, or just made up makes you pretty uninformed considering the whole world asserted they most likely did have them and even put dabilitating sanctions on them. Do you understand now?

I’m not sure I believe that liberation is even necessarily going to be outcome at all, and I think we are actually making ourselves far less secure by waging this war.

The war was easier than most expected. Even those that supported the war from the beginning like myself.Liberation is demonstrable, at least an increased liberation. Hey they have the right to badmouth those you disagree with just like you and I do.

The aftermath and our future security has not supported your statements so far.

Of course everyone is suddenly cooperative with the United States. I mean, if I’m riding on the bus and the unkempt guy across the aisle starts drooling on himself and mutters death threats to the invisible pink aliens on his shoulders, I smile, nod politely, agree with everything he say, and generally try not to give the lunatic any reason to get any crazier.
