I’m calling my doctor in the morning. I’m not looking for medical advice, blah blah blah.
PandaKid noticed tonight that one of my eyelids is ever so slightly droopy. It’s VERY slight. More noticeable from a distance than up close. It’s always seemed though that as eyelids go my left one was just a tiny bit lower than the right one, probably because I have a tiny bit of right brain damage.
Wellbutrin has screwed with me for a while now but this is the last straw. No more. IANAD but I’m fairly certain it’s the medication and not a neurological reason - but of course that will be my MD’s call.
Has anyone else out there had this happen, either on Wellbutrin or another SSRI?
Among other things, yes, I had an occasionally droopy eyelid while I was on Wellbutrin. I don’t remember now whether it was my left or right. It stopped after I stopped the Wellbutrin. Most miserable antidepressant I’ve ever been on.
I feel much better knowing someone else has had this happen
Thanks for your reply!
What other side effects did you have?
For me, it works fine for the depression. It screws with my speech and memory though. I’ll misspeak at times or say the wrong word entirely and I’ll just completely go blank on something at times. It was way worse on 300mg, not too troublesome at 150.
This eyelid thing, though – no. It’s time to find something else.
Screwed with my speech and memory too. I feel so much clearer now that I’m on something else.
I don’t want to get too specific, but I had a particular thought I was just obsessed with the entire time I was on Wellbutrin. When I wasn’t directly focused on it, it was always there in the back of my mind. A little over a month after I’d been weaned off, I realized it was finally quiet in my head.
My sex drive was low to begin with, but it was basically gone while I was on Wellbutrin. I had a very, very difficult time orgasming, and when I did, and was much less intense than usual.
And not really a problem, but I could never remember my dreams. I do more often now, which generally entertains me.
I think that about covers it.
My dad had this symptom, and it turned out to be Myasthenia Gravis. You never know, definitely get it checked out.
Nitpick: Wellbutrin isn’t an SSRI. I did know someone who had something similar happen on Zoloft, though.
I had unbearable headaches for three days; I just lay in bed, screaming. I finally quit without even consulting the doctor. I was always good about giving new medications time to work, but not that shit.
