About 12 years ago I read part of a science fiction book about a family of space travelers traveling to a distant galaxy. Basically the family went to sleep or comatose on their voyage and were supposed to awake close to their destination. During this time they would not age. However, a child or children actually awoke and when the rest of the family woke up they were older than their parents. For some reason I quit reading when they actually made it to their distant planet, but I would love to be able to pick it up again. I remember no character’s name, author, title or anything. This is really all the information I have. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?
Was it Stephen King’s The Jaunt? It’s not a children’s work and doesn’t continue (IIRC) from the point you left off, but otherwise fits the bill.
I serriously doubt it – in that story the boy deliberately stayed awake, and was seriously psycho at the end – not older. (And, as you say, not a kid’s story at all) There are plenty of other stories with people in hibernation for long voyages, but I haven’t read children’s SF in ages. This one rings no bells with me.
I am positive this wasn’t it as I was in around 6th or 7th grade, but that does sound like real interesting read.
Thanks for the help though guys.
I have both found the answers to my own title questions, as well as identifying for others, on this website.

It really is quite remarkable, and only costs a couple of bucks to post your question. My sister and I have found the titles to at least three books, and I ID’d two others, in the past.
