What’s funny about NASCAR is they use a lot of outdated technology that is no longer found in most street cars - push rod engines and carbs are 2 examples. And of course NASCAR was slow to adopt safety measures that other series had for years such as the HANS device. When Dale Earnhardt died in 2001 I think his helmet was about the same he wore in 1971.
