I have an extensive vinyl collection that either I never replaced with a CD, or it wasn’t a big enough seller for anyone to want to issue it to CD. I’ve seen the turntables with USB connections that presumably convert the record/album to MP3 so that you can do whatever with it, but at this point haven’t looked into them a whole lot. Anyone have any experience?
I used one I just picked up at Circuit City. ($20-$30) You used a regular turntable, which you plugged into a device, and the device plugged into the USB.
I got some good results but it was really tedious after a while. If you can’t download the music, then it is a good option but you will have to play the entire album, then go back and seperate the tracks, and then work each track to set levels and eliminate noise, and then name and import your tracks. So at least 1.5 to 2 hours to get 12 songs off an album.
