Anyone using Hunter Cams as Security? Recommendations?

I saw a local news report about a couple that got photos of two people breaking into their home and carrying off 7,000 worth of stuff.

The man had put a hunter cam in a tree facing his back patio door. The camera was motion activated and stored the pics on a flash card. Unfortunately they didn’t mention a brand.

I want to do something similar for my back door. Cameras are about $100.

Any recommendations for cameras or features I should look for? I know it needs to be weather resistant and motion activated. What else? Maybe night vision?

My parents do this, at the cottage. Can’t remember the brand of cam, though.

They set it up to take pics of those comming in along the road. Main problem is concealing the cam - at night it uses infrared, making a red flash that is visible.

What they did, was set the cam up in a brushpile so that its field of view is looking through a hole in the brush. This makes the flash hard to see unless you are looking right at it.
