I purchased some food for my budgies at my local grocery store. When I got home I pulled back the foil seal and the first thing I see is a big honking peanut. Huh? I say, how are my little birdies going to eat that. So, I look at the label and it says Parrot & other large hookbill, gourmet diet. :smack:
I would like to offer this food to one of my parrot loving dopers, or to a bird rescue of your choice. Why not just return the food to the store you might ask? Where is the fun in that? Send me a PM or an E-mail and I will send the food out straight away.
The food is Hartz Bonanza, tropical fruit blend, 19 oz, tropical fruits, vegetables and nuts.
Off topic: My birdies are having babies. Montana is sitting on 4 eggs and proud papa Fenway has been been delivering food to her. Anyone want a birdy?
You might be interested in www.freecycle.org It’s a bunch of web or email based local groups which do exactly this - help you give away stuff you don’t want and get stuff other people are giving away. For most groups, you have to post a give-away first (to try and discourage greedy grabbers), but each locality is moderated indepentently. I’ve gotten rid of big things (old dining room table) and little things (Phantom of the Opera ceramic mask circa 1989, three air mattress pumps I didn’t like, even open and partially used bottles of shampoo that were all wrong for my hair!) and everything in between that I couldn’t be arsed to ebay, and gotten two different baby strollers, a new fancy dish rack (retail $30), a huge bag of bras in my size (which are at least $60 each retail in my size!) and other stuff. Check it out!
Thanks for the heads up WhyNot, I’ll look at that site. I’m not interested in getting anything in return though. I’m looking for a fellow Doper who may be in need.
I’ll take it. I have tiels, so they won’t get to enjoy it (although I know my boy would have a blast with the peanuts!), but there’s a local bird sanctuary that I know could use the food.
What a sweet gesture for you to make!
PM and email sent.
