Told you schmucks, give it a week or two. We’re running like a cheetah on crack now.
I had no problems after about 24 hours, save for the board being down all day last Friday.
Crack-using cheetahs are difficult to appreciate in the land of dial-up. At least the ‘cannot find server’ messages are far less frequent. 
The board last month: a 98-pound weakling cowering in the corner and whimpering whenever anybody looked his way. Easily picked on.
The board now: a heavily muscled steroid freak ripped off his muscle shirt and screaming “how ya like me now, punk?! You want some of this?? How ya like me NOW?!?!” at anyone who looks at him the wrong way. An object of fear and awe. Mostly fear.
Well, after it crashed the last time, it has been much better. One more crash and it should be worth the price.
It’s too fast, I don’t like it. Why can’t we go back to the decrepit hamsters on their rusty, broken treadmills?
Let me stand here fully chastened. Speed has, of late, been most satisfactory, and I must admit my initial irritation and frustration was unwarranted, and indeed due partly to ignorance, as I could not be bothered to read the disclaimers related to expected service disturbances during the transition.
I offer as a meager defence the difficulty in getting on to read those disclaimers and still get my doping in, due to long waits to log in. 
But flog me if you like: I spoke too soon. The board is much faster now, and I’m a happy dude.

I think an upsurge in members would be a goodthing.
I used to get 1-2 minute page load times at work (on satellite), but good response at home over the DSL. I guess they bypassed a network bottleneck because at work my load times are about 3 seconds now.

I got that too, for the very first time. Not only that, I had to re-submit my post THREE TIMES before the message went away. WOW!!!
I’ll bitch about the board speed. It pisses me off when I’m surfing this board and another at the same time and I can read three threads here before the first one even loads over there. My browsers are having board envy!
