Anyone watch Animal Planet last night- man with 247 cats in his house!!!!

Daniel,

I totally agree with you! People should really try and adopt from shelters rather than jump on the bandwagon of pure breeds. UGH. It drives me crazy.

Sorry about your horrific day…looks like the outcome was good, though.

Thanks Daniel. Through PetFinder, I just adopted a rescued purebred Boston Terror – who spent all his five years at a puppy mill. He was the stud dog and did nothing but poop and make more puppies.

I watch shows like this to remind myself how spoiled – and well taken care of – my babies are. Even Mr. Stinky – the new dog, who doesn’t know yet that he doesn’t have to poop in his crate any more. (We’re working on that). I may have two Boston Terrors and two cats… but I ain’t no Crazy Cat Lady.

Yet.

I’m a Crazy Cat Lady! See http://www.crazycatladies.org. Of course, I only have two cats, who are two of the most spoiled creatures on the planet, getting premium food, more toys and playtime than some kids, and unlimited snuggles.

ENugent

Ditto…my two house rabbits and two cats are my babies. Spoiled rotten, but well-behaved.

Thanks for the link to ‘crazycatladies’…I’m going to look at it later on.

Definitely. I worked for an agency that does home repair for low-income folks and animals are kept just as broken-down machinery and junk is kept, I guess just to have something. If you are barely feeding your seven human kids, do you really need dogs, goats and rabbits to take care of too? (The goats weren’t used for milk, or the rabbits for food or anything.)

Programs like that one are a big reason I cannot watcht the Animal Police shows. Also seen on that program was the woman who beat her dog with a flaming stick. The crazy cat man at least thought in his own deluded insane mind he was doing the cats a solid, but the bitch who beat the dog with not just a stick, but a fucking stich which was on fire at the time deserves to be sodomized by the chunnel machine.

The only reason I had the show on is a houseguest wanted to watch it. I had a sore jaw from clenching my teeth through the whole thing.

2 BR, 1 Bath Brick Bungalow w/ Basement for sale in suburban Detroit. Absolutely, positively no mice.

I saw most of the Animal Planet show in question (missed the first 10 minutes), and I was utterly disgusted by the filth that was in this house.

Although it was said that the owners face no criminal charges, I was just wondering what’s going to happen to the house? I mean, do the owners go back to living in that house, or was it condemned? And if it isn’t condemned, is it even possible to clean out the house of such filth?

I think generally houses like this get condemned by the Fire Department. This is part of what makes the cases so hard, though: the people involved are often extremely poor, and if you condemn their house, where will they go?

Sucky situation all around.

Daniel

I saw this show and yes, posted a thread here almost identical to this one. :smack: That’ll teach me to check out the boards more carefully before I post.

Anyway, this same sort of situation happened here in my hometown. Several cats were removed from the house, but nothing near 247. It was more like 30 or 40. At any rate, the house was condemned and then later demolished.

Daniel, that sends me to the script of the WLOS 6:00 news. It’s fascinating, but it isn’t about a puppy mill.
