I watched the first episode last night. Novel, but I don’t know if I’ll keep going.
So questions.
Caeneus did not hear the scream of the soul being taken by Hades while Roddy did. Prometheus let us know that that was important. And of course we know he ends up being key the renewing souls. Not just powered by love. Presumptively is Kaos. Chaos is the first, the jumbled void, in the myths. Is he supposed to be some specific figure here? (Maybe when mom identified that the form did not fit the content she was referencing more than gender?) Yes I get that that is what we need to wait for S2 to answer, but any guesses? Hera was calling Ares, yes? Gathering the troops is very literal.
Just finished it. Really enjoyed it, even David Thewlis, who I usually can’t stand. Goldblum chewing scenery, the black and white in the under world, cool world building, just lots of good things.
I too was rooting for the kitten. I’m curious how much was real cat and how much CGI?
They spent a fortune on music rights.
I was positive the whole time that the actor playing Caeneus was Paul Williams, the assistant from Taskmanster NZ.
Just bumping to say it looks like this one season is all we’re getting. Netflix haven’t renewed it. Of course
OB
I was wondering why they cast Goldblum but it does turn out that is his kind of rule as the capricious and jealous Zeus.
Good series but maybe a little slow. I recognized a little bit of the mythology behind it.
God. Dammit.
Maybe someone else will pick it up.
Crap. Didn’t notice your post. It was good enough to try another season.
Is that not more or less consistent than the traditional portrayal of the Greek gods?
Yeah that blows.
This sort of thing makes me hesitant to get into any new series. Especially if they are going to end seasons on cliffhangers.
I just finished it and I liked it; it felt like a fresh take on a familiar story. Too bad there won’t be any more.
My only tiny annoyance was that I felt the soundtrack was a little bit much, with all of the “look at how cool we are” rock song snippets and that over-the-top “Celestia, Insania, Vero, Cheesy Poofs” song they kept repeating.
