The iPhone X looks fairly meh and I don’t care for that cutout at the top. I think the Galaxy S8/Note 8 and even LG’s G6 is a better implementation of the slim bezel design.
I watched but I didn’t see anything in the X that justified the added cost. I think I’m due for an upgrsde this year so I’ll probably get the 8 instead.
So, do I need an iPhone to get the “non-cellular” version of the new watch to work, or can it stand on its own (like a really small iPad)?
I think the new watch stands on its own. My husband texted that he’s thinking of getting one for just this reason.
During the event they said although the new watch has LTE capability, it will share a number with your iPhone. Not sure either version will be fully functional without an iPhone to some degree.
