I’m looking for opinions on these ‘heightening’ gadgets. My 17 year old son wants to be a bit taller. He’s 5’7" in his bare feet, so I think he’s fine as is – just a little shorter than average – but he disagrees. So he stumbled across an ad for elevator shoes in the back of a weightlifting magazine and is wondering how they really look. If he added 2.5 inches with elevator shoes would the shoes look and feel natural? And what about ‘lifts’ – also sold in 2.5 inch heights – they would have to look obvious, wouldn’t they? Both are expensive – the shoes range from $90 up to over $150 and aren’t the name brands he prefers. The ‘lifts’ are about $50, but he could switch them from shoe to shoe and keep the shoes he already has. Obviously, I won’t be paying for this, so he’s worried about wasting his own money on something he won’t be able to use.
