Oooh!!! Looks like I touched a nerve! Then what DO you do? Other than go around and insult people all day?
(What rules have I broken, you retarded cow?)
So, not going to admit you were wrong and apologize then, I guess? Better to crap MORE on the person on whom you spouted your absolutely incorrect AND condescending bullshit, eh? Just as I suspected. You never disappoint, Carol Stream.
Besides the cites already given, there’s the article quoted in post 458 of this very thread.
I find it a little odd that you didn’t realize this, given that, by your political beliefs, forcing insurance companies who have a deal with employers to take on every employee regardless of health would be an onerous burden on said insurance companies.
At any rate, to take the focus away from your assertions for the moment, I’m still interested in answers to my questions on what the hardcore libertarians in this thread think need to be done, if anything, with the current system that would make maximum improvements, yet still be acceptable to them. I mean, asserting your beliefs is all well and good, but I still only have a relatively vague sense of whether they think there’s an institutional problem or not.
**Guin **is unemployable. She’s a woman-child… afraid of the real world, afraid of her own shadow. Zero self-confidence. I have family members just like her. Nothing is their fault, and they have a million excuses why they can’t work. “But there are no jobs! But I have medical conditions! But everything is so unfair! But my situation is different than most people!” While the rest of us are getting up at 5:00 in the morning everyday to put in 10 hours of work, **Guin **is sitting at the computer in her parents’ basement. She has time to rack up almost 36K posts on one forum alone, but just can’t seem to keep a job. :dubious: She’s a woman-child. While you and I are paying thousands of dollars in taxes each year, and contributing to the good of society, **Guin **is playing the victim while receiving the fruits of our labor.
Perhaps, but as has been mentioned in this thread before, there are plenty of conditions and people that are just plain unprofitable to treat effectively. Are you saying that a government-run system would also skip over those people too? If so, wouldn’t it NOT be true UHC?
If the likes of Guin would confine her utter nonsense to MPSIMS, I’d never even notice.
Regardless of your contempt for her, you were wrong. Be a fucking grown up and admit it.
Never notice what? That you were wrong?
Bingo!
You know what? Fuck you. How does being laid off and still looking for work equate to “woman-child… afraid of the real world, afraid of her own shadow?” Huh, shithead?
At least, I am not a heartless sociopath, you fucked up piece of filth. I don’t need to look down on everyone else, and say, “screw you, I got mine.” I never said everything was unfair or that my situation is different. (Hell a LOT of people are in situations like mine right now)
“Contribute to the good of society?” Yeah, “at gun point”, apparently. If it were up to you, you wouldn’t even do that.
The reason they didn’t ask about them is because they don’t have to ask. All of your medical claims (as well as car insurance claims and home owner’s insurance claims, for that matter) are listed in what is called a CLUE report. Insurance companies have access to records that show every time you have ever stepped foot in a doctor’s office or a hospital. If you go in to see a doctor for a prior condition and you file a claim there is someone at the insurance company whose job it is to pull up your report and compare information and if they find out you have a prior condition your claim will be denied and possibly cancelled. It’s the same with you other insurance too…if you file 3 claims for flooding on your HO coverage and they cancel you for being too high a risk you can’t really just go to the next company because they have all of those records too and will refuse you coverage just like the previous company. With health insurance they go back and check your paperwork in comparison with your tax documents, so if your W4 says you were hired on Feb 12th but you wrote Feb 15th on your form that is considered fraud and they can deny a claim because of that.
For those people here who have problems with medical coverage and need prescriptions or other medical care they can’t afford please feel free to PM me. As a health insurance agent with a nonprofit company I have some sources that might be of help to you.
None of this ad hominem bullying bullshit mitigates the fact that YOU WERE WRONG. You ask for cites and then dismiss them with the utterly fucking stupid, “Oh, that never happened to ME!” Can’t admit you were wrong, let’s crap on Guin by posting a ME TOO to Crafter_Man, what a strong stance. Nicely done! No one can undermine you better than you, Carol. You’re aces at it.
How am I wrong, though? If anyone got a job, it would seem to be illegal for the emplyer to discriminate based on health status. Does this really happen?
Yes, it does all the time. I’ve seen it happen. (Not to me, necessarily, but to other people.)
Just because you’ve never had to struggle for anything you got, doesn’t mean it’s as easy for everyone.
I’m assuming you’ve never worked hard a day in your life. Like you’re assuming that Guin is lazy.
Did I just blow your mind?
Wow.
You know, I used to enjoy your posts. Once upon a time. I didn’t agree with your political views, but I could see where you were coming from, and it was interesting to compare your views with my own.
But this?
You completely blew any credibility you ever had.
Guin doesn’t lack a job because she’s a “woman-child”, moron. She lacks a job because she was laid off due to a shitty economy. She continues to lack a job because she has grand mal epileptic seizures. That is, at random moments, she falls unconscious, hits the floor, and twitches. It’s kind of a career-limiting illness.
Reasonable people can disagree. Passionately, even heatedly.
Unreasonable people blow moronic, ad hominem arguments out their asshole and call it logic.
May the rest of the world treat you with the same selfish lack of empathy and blind vicious hatred you’ve shown here.
When I had employer-provided coverage when did I ever have a “right to change” my insurance company? NEVER! Whatever the company gave out that’s what I got - either I couldn’t get insurance due to a pre-existing condition, or the premium I was quoted was so high I could pay it AND rent+food, too. What choice is that? None at all. I’ve never had this “choice” you speak of, and realistically speaking, neither have the vast majority of the the US. That “choice” is an illusion.
How are you wrong? Because the facts are not on your side, which is the general definitin of “wrong.” Your position is incorrect. You are wrong. Let it sink it. It happens to the best of us, though not in this case.
Did you read my cite? Yes, it is legal, and yes, it can happen. I don’t understand what else you want here. A US government website with a direct quote explaining how and under what circumstances has already been provided to you. Guin is an example of someone that it would be legal for an employer’s health plan not to cover her pre-existing condition. Your contempt for her notwithstanding, your advice to “get a job” as a solution for her lack of coverage for her epilepsy is absolute bullshit. Just admit it and move the fuck on.
But it can establish universal health care. Even a limited government can do that.
My assessment is not based on your present situation. It’s based on nine years (nine *long *years) of reading your posts. It’s utterly obvious you’re afraid of the world outside your parents’ home. You find safety and comfort in their basement, and the computer monitor becomes your surrogate world. Instead of being honest about it, though, you try and convince people that it’s not your fault you can’t find a job and live on your own. You have a ton of excuses… there are no jobs, I have a medical condition, I have a disease, my situation is different, etc.
If I were unemployed, you would not see me posting here. Want to know why? Because every hour I spend in an online forum is an hour I could be looking for a job.
