Anything else you motherfuckers need?

Well, lots of people liked Hitler, too. Just sayin’. (And I just lost the internet; congrats Guin.)

Also, you may be mistaking “pity” for “like” in several instances. Many liberal douches are drawn to people like you because it confirms their worldview (ie, that there are lots of weak people that need to be protected).

Also, in case you haven’t noticed, I am probably the most popular member of the SDMB ever. Like, EVER ever.

Which is why Zotti is sharing ad revenue with me.

Thanks for the page views, suckers! And remember, liberals are bad!

Go to bed Rver, your’re drunk.

I wondered why he was in here talking to himself.

Whoa, did I just get Godwined? I’m so flattered!!! (And get some imagination, mmkay?)

Guin, you win the thread!

And if you want a good laugh, do check out a true measure of RR’s resounding popularity in the ChiDope thread. A DopeFest thread with mod warnings for personal insults. Priceless.

No, that would be curlcoat by a country mile. She is the reason this thread has so many posts, and she’s the Queen of the Longest Thread Evar. Don’t try to steal her thunder.

My exact thought was “fuck rand rover lives in Chicago? why does he have to live so close?”. So I checked his profile hoping it had a far far away location and it said:

“Friends
Rand Rover has not made any friends yet”.
About says it all.

The WSJ has a great editorial today written by a British doctor re: the nonexistence of a right to health care.

Last line is: “There is no right to health care–any more than there is a right to chicken Kiev every second Thursday of the month.”

Written by “Theodore Dalrymple”–retired psychiatrist & Professional Curmudgeon.

Same here, only I stopped at “fuck rand rover.”

Uh oh, mods ain’t gonna like that! You gonna get yo’self reminded of the rules with no warning issued REAL good!

It’s fairly amazing that you (and the author) think the comparison of health care to a luxury meal is a valid one.

Sad, too.

Want to bet I can find more horror stories about US healthcare than about “socialized medicine”?

Just for the record, I would quite enjoy meeting RR or more or less any other Doper. There are a very few I can think of- I can count them on one hand- who I wouldn’t, in fact. Mostly open racists, although AFAIK only one such person is currently an active poster.

I’d go so far as to say if you can’t compartmentalize people’s political views and their personalities, you’re cutting yourself off from a variety of good people who could be your friends. I’m as socially liberal as they come, but the majority of my friends lean conservative.

I’ve been to three Dope activities, and I liked everyone I met.

I’d like to lock you in a room with **Lekatt, Curlcoat **and **Rand Rover **until you begged for your release a little more urgently than the Senator’s daughter in Silence of the Lambs.

Rand,
you are absoultely correct in that there is no fundemental right to health care. There’s nothing in the Constitution that states that, there’s nothing in the Bible that states that, there’s no law in America that states that. There’s no right.

All that being said…

It’s to the betterment of society, ALL society, that its population as a whole remain as healthy as possible. Innoculations work better when a large enough percentage of the population get them and the herd immunity effect kicks in. Giving access to medications means YOU are less likely to get sick from the guy next to you on the El.
When people can regularly see a doctor, they’ll take preventative steps rather than wait until it can only be treated by someone rushing them to the ER. This saves the doctors time and money and ultimately costs YOU less money.

You can spin it however you like about how people have no right to health care. They don’t. But time after time and example after example will show that giving everyone who you talk to and touch and breathe the same air as access to both doctors and medicine will ultimately save YOU money and make YOU healthier.

Oh and your stupid Chicken Kiev analogy? It’s stupid and you know it’s stupid because you’re not that stupid so stop being so stupid.

Just to stir the pot (some more) and have a little fun…

I say I do have a right to chicken Kiev. I buy it, I cook it (or burn it, whatever), and I eat it. I have a right to do this.

Is there some Secret Chicken Police out there to stop me?

NO ONE CAN STOP ME! MWAH HA HA HA HAAAAAA

Ender, the fact that a program would benefit me (or everyone or anyone) is an insufficient reason for the US federal government to enact that program. Rather, the US fed gov should stay within its limited sphere of protecting us from enemies and other such stuff (and by enemies I mean terrorists, not diabetes or whatever).

Also, I bet you agree with the above. For example, do you think warrantless wiretapping is OK? It would benefit eveyrone after all.

Prove it.

Cancerous cells are like billions of little terrorists.

I’m especially curious to find out how it would benefit the people being tapped.
