Rand Rover and food? Well, on the positive side I could eat anything I want as I’d only barf it all back up as soon as he opened his yap. On the other hand, now I know who the weasel was that skipped out early on the last one leaving the rest of us holding the bill having to pay for much more than we had consumed.

I am always interested in dopefests. Obviously, we’re going to need a date and place. I’m not crying about separate checks, either.

Feel free to pay for the whole thing then. Interesting people, but some of them are apparently either terrible at math, or just terrible all-around. Leaving the last folks at the table short more than $200 for the bill is indefensible. Again, if you’re buying, no problem.

Hey, I’d love to attend another DopeFest. But based on the last one, I’m not going to trust a bunch of Dopers as far as I can throw them.
I don’t recall if I went to the last ChiDopeFest. Was that the one at the Chinese restaurant (I have already forgotten the name of it-something to do with silver and fish, IMS. The food was delicious.)
If that is the one, I don’t recall anyone being left short, but the ladies’ could have been cleaner…
I doubt I’m up for this one, money being tight and time being likewise. But please post pics etc.
The one I’m talking about was at a restaurant in Greektown, on a deck on the roof. The problem is the roof tables were only served appetizers (presumably to speed up the table turnover). But most of the people came hungry, looking for dinner, and were forced to try to make a full meal out of the limited appetizer menu. Thus, the honking huge bill. Which could have been settled faily…if some people hadn’t beat a hasty exit tossing a $20 on the table when their fair share would have come a damn sight closer to $50.

I don’t think I’d enjoy it if no one I’ve ever interacted with is there, so I am also uninviting myself until such time as at least 3 or 4 people I’ve interacted with say they are interested.
(No offense intended to those of you who have expressed interest (except gaffa), but I could just go to dinner with random strangers on the street if that’s what I wanted to do.)

I can imagine you’ll find few people on the Dope who have interacted with you who have any great desire to expand the depth of the full “Rand Rover Experience”. Honestly, I believe a Rand Rover free DopeFest might be a greater draw.
No, I don’t believe I’ll attend, for reasons I’ve clearly stated in earlier posts long before Rand Rover decided I couldn’t attend his tea party.

What have I said that is insulting? I think Rand Rover having a dopefest is an awesome idea, and I wish I could attend.
If this thread continues, I’d like it to be about planning a DopeFest and not everybody’s personal issues with each other. Insulting is a better description for the other posts, yours was simply not appropriate for this forum. The first one would’ve been fine in the Pit, but not here, so I included you in my request that everybody cool it.
