My wife has never seen a Hitchcock film, so I wanted to pull one up last night.
Nothing on Netflix, Amazon…any other options?

Archive.org has several, including The 39 Steps, The Lady Vanishes, and Secret Agent. Early work, but the first two are classics.
Am I missing something? I’m seeing a ton of Hitchcock films on Amazon, including my personal favorite The 39 Steps free on Amazon Prime.
Well, maybe I missed something. I was using the XBox, possibly that had something to do with it.
ETA: I’ll be damned, you’re right. Guess I’ve learned my lesson to search on the PC first.
You might also check your public library. I was amazed to discover this, even with recent films. Sadly, unlike other places, my local only has kid’s movies. I’m considering joining the San Antonio library if I can get away with it (without actually moving there).
Hi!
I was just referred to 39 steps. I have looked online for what the 39 steps are but found no results. What do the 39 steps refer to?

We are waiting for Strangers On A Train to be available with our subscriptions again.
Hi Rob, welcome!
From Wikipedia:
“It concerns a Canadian civilian in London, who becomes caught up in preventing an organization of spies called “The 39 Steps” from stealing British military secrets.”
Kanopy is a streaming service that comes free with my library card, and it currently has Dial M for Murder.
This probably wasn’t true when the this thread was started 8 years ago (and the OP probably no longer cares), but for what it’s worth Peacock has Psycho.
The 39 steps were at Broadstairs. The whole story of Buchan’s association is here:
The Hitchcock movie plot and description of what “the 39 steps” means were different from those in the book. The reference above from Wikipedia describes the 1935 Hitchcock version (there have been others).
Check out PEACOCK online; it’s free, and seems to have about eight films and (what I went there for) the ten seasons of the twoHitchcock TV series,
