I’ve been on AOL ever since 3.0 was around. I tried MSN just to check it out and I was happy with it. Ever since I have been on AOL I have always been able to open MSIE, so that I wouldn’t have to use AOL’s version of MSIE cuz it sucks. I recently got AOL5.0 Version 156.44(build a) and I have MSIE 5.00.2919.6307. I soon found out that IE5.0 and AOL 5.0 can’t be used simultaneously–something to do with AOL’s Dial-up Adaptor. Is there anyway around this. Everytime I open IE i get a DNS error–or something like that
Remove your AOL Adapter (Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Network >> AOL Adapter >> Remove).
Then reboot the machine and start AOL–it should rebuild the Adapter properly…you may need to have your Windows Installation Disk handy, so grab that first.
If that doesn’t fix it, call AOL Tech Support.
