AOL places bid to buy AT&T Broadband
I love cable internet and couldn’t imagine going back to dial up, but I swear I’ll drop AT&T like a hot potato if AOHell takes over. Bastards.
God almighty.
First MSN takes over my ISP via Qwest, and now AOL wants to take over my long distance (And God knows what else they have their gready little paws into) as well?
If AOL starts becoming so mainstream that it is essentially a Microsoft, then I’ll be pissed.
For logistical reasons I’m sort of stuck with AOHell, but boy, would I ever welcome the opportunity to shove the entire godforsaken service up the oh-so-deserving sphincter of Mr. Case.
In the meantime I keep looking at those dishes, hoping they get them smoothed out and available in my area…

I enjoy getting e-mails from my friends, but I’m tired of getting (jokes/messages/anything/etc.) “stuff” from these folks that use AOL. You gotta OPEN, OPEN, OPEN to get to the meat of the message and then need to DELETE, DELETE, DELTE to get rid of the “stuff”.
Is it just me, or am I doing something wrong?
No, 'Uigi, you’re just fine, they just don’t understand the simple concept of email. (forward-forward-forward---- makes me crazy too)

That’s what it’s all about, Cnote. Microsoft bought out Qwest for their users, to better compete with AOL, now AOL buys AT&T to stay ahead of MSN. This won’t end until they reach a balance of power, or one buys the other somehow.
In the end, it’s us users who will suffer with the mediocre offerings of both.
I have said this before, and I say it again.
Gah.
Almost enought to make me drop the internet altogether and go back to reading books.
Almost.
Well, this reminds me of a cartoon in Penthouse a couple of years back when all the media companies started merging. They had the name of AOL-Time Warner as “Time Warner AOL Turner or TWAT for short” :D! Sigh, too bad they didn’t do that, it certainly would have upped their membership and made them a much cooler company.
Well that would shoot a few of my plans.
I loathe AOL so have been anticipating eagerly going w/ ATT cable when I get my new computer in a few months.
To quote whatever commercial: “This changes everything.”
I absolutely refuse to get sucked back into the AOL quagmire.

So why aren’t you pissed?
Good afternoon friends,
Our local shopping mall has a Warner Bros. company store that is closing due to the AOL takover. No more Tweety sweatshirts, or Scooby Doo slippers. What’s wrong? Wouldn’t Steve Case’s Mom let him watch Bugs Bunny??
It’s probably more that the WB stores aren’t all that profitable.
The entire Warner Brothers store chain is being shut down. It’s more likely that the business was losing money and unfixable than that Steve Case is a jerk.
