My how I loved this movie! But what I’d really like to know is what instrumental piece was played during the section where we see Sheen at the last (?)outpost. The one with lots of bare lights strung up, making it look like a roadside attraction. The music there is very carnival-esque and as a clown collector, I’d be thrilled to add that to my collection to truly creep people out when viewing my little beauties.
I’ve tried looking it up all over the place, but apparently I am useless at finding this stuff out on my own. Help!
I think it’s “The End”, sung by Jim Morrison of The Doors.
According to the soundtrack listing the only non-original track is Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries.
I appreciate the help y’all, but it’s definitely not Ride of the Valkyries and as previously mentioned, it’s entirely instrumental. It’s got a calliope feel to it, although I don’t really remember if it has some in there or not. And besides, I like Jim Morrison enough to know most of his music, especially the creepy stuff. I think.
Anyway, I’ve even tried searching those places we don’t mention here, to hear it and see if whatever might be it. Like looking under “carnival” or Apocalypse Now, etc. but haven’t had any luck.
I’ll stay after it though.
It depends which soundtrack you are looking for.
On the original soundtrack, of the 20 musical cuts, only six were composed by persons other then Francis Ford Coppola and his father carmine Coppola.
For the soundtrack to Apocalypse Now Redux of the 17 musical tracks, 11 were written by Francis Ford Coppola and his father Carmine Coppola, the others attributed to The Doors, Mickey Heart, Wagner and Broadwater/Hawkins/Lewis (the people who wrote Suzy Q.)
Is this the wrong thread to discuss the film?
