I’m disappointed. I was hoping for one man’s giant leap into the criminal-justice system, not one small step afoul of the law.
Probably taken from the charging document. Even if the victim shows a bill to the police for a precise amount, it’s good practice to put “about” in the charge, to prevent quibbling in court about whether there might have been an additional five bucks worth of damage that didn’t get fixed by that repair shop.
Well, there WAS until the green alien that’s the son (well, they’re all technically asexual) of the former evil side of the Earth’s primary guiding spirit destroyed it to prevent the human looking aliens with tails from turning into giant apes and destroying the world.

That clip never gets old. I especially love the way Buzz times the punch perfectly to fit what BS is saying:
“You’re a coward, and a liar, and a thOOF” 
The only thing that could be cooler about that clip is if Buzz looked at the camera and said “To the moon, asshole!”
Yes, but whoever wrote the article (or their editor) should have known well enough to change it to “about $1,430,” since they weren’t pulling a direct quote. Qualifying a precise number as an estimate is a big no-no.
