Still, I think interaction and even confrontation is part of the growth process if we can do it with an awareness of our own need to learn. It’s in that interaction with all it’s joys and bumps and bruises that we see our own path more clearly and discover the areas we need to work on.

Every last one of us makes judgements=-how else could we get through the day? IMO, it’s the final judgement that we cannot make. And we cannot place people in categories (not just racism, sexism etc–but stupid, skanky, upright, manipulative etc) and leave them there. Every single one of us is capable of growth–even Death Row inmates, even child molesters. If I didn’t believe that, I don’t think I would bother being here on this Earth. I will make a note of the book–I start grad school in 10 days-but I cannot get to it now. 
Re the OP–I dunno if your question was answered–it appears that there is a wide swathe of experience and interpretation of spirituality and faith here–but you already knew that, no?
