app for item rentals?

This is weird but I’m searching and searching with no luck. I’m looking for an app (iphone/pad if possible) to help me with tracking rentals of watersports equipment. Something basic that I can enter or barcode scan an item (say a kayak), note the rental information and then scan or enter when it’s returned. It’s being done all on paper now and it seems like there would be a way to easily streamline this process. All I find when I’m searching is Real Estate rental apps. Thoughts on what to search for or how to accomplish what I’m doing? Ideally I’d love to scan a barcode for a kayak ,paddle, life jacket, dry bag etc and track what I’m putting out as well as when it’s returned.

Looks like if you change your search from “rent” to “borrow” you will have more luck searching. I didn’t check the iTunes store but searching on Google for “borrow track app” brings up several hits for the Google Play store as well as several articles about the best borrow-tracking apps. And some hits for the online iTunes store.

Huh, I wouldn’t have thought of “borrow”, thank you! I’ll keep hunting. Meantime if anyone has used a “borrow” app successfully and likes it, let me know- I suck at programming and really don’t want to write a database program, it will take me 10 years!
