Apple TV free for days of three (January 3rd-5th)

It’s fine if you didn’t want to stick with Shrinking. Personally, I tried Severance but didn’t still with it past part of the first episode.

RE: Silo… Interesting, I heard it sticks very close to the books, and the production quality and acting is as good as it gets. Maybe reconsider?

And gah, I somehow forgot to add Slow Horses to my list. Another great show.

Didn’t even know this show existed, let alone that it’s on Apple TV+. Just finished the first episode, and I gotta say it’s pretty good.

Dickinson is a good show that is pretty underrated. I think it got buried under the weight of the other shows that were part of the original slate of Apple TV + that had mega budgets and/or mega stars like For All Mankind, The Morning Show and See.

Besides the other shows already mentioned, there’s also a two-part documentary on Steve Martin available.

I’m making note of some of these suggestions.

To me, the first season of Severance would be up there as among the best single seasons of television I’ve seen.

For anyone who didn’t get through the first episode, I think it’s worth giving it another try. The first episode can give an impression that it will be a different show than it is.

But if I didn’t care for the books, would I still be interested in watching a show that sticks very close to them because the acting and production values are good?

Ahh. You hadn’t mentioned you didn’t care for the books. I just assumed you dug them.

Carry on, then…

I made an Apple account and now it wants me to add a credit card when I try to watch a show.

Is this a free trial that I will need to remember to cancel Sunday night or how does it work?

As the OP, I don’t know anything more than what was in the article.

Thank you for responding. Just not sure I want to have to sign up for a free 2 day trial. I might forget lol.

If anyone is looking for a limited series to watch, I would recommend Five Days at Memorial. A really terrific series about the impact of Hurricane Katrina on a major hospital in New Orleans.

The series was supposed to have been produced a number of years ago as part of American Crime Story, but I guess Ryan Murphy lost interest. The series as ultimately made was pretty good, but didn’t get a lot of publicity when it came out.

Not a lot of stars in it, but Vera Farmiga is top billed and was great, as she is in practically everything.

I had to open an Apple TV account to be able to access the channel on my TV. This required me to do so on my computer, since there didn’t seem to be able to do so after loading the app on my TV. However, at no point was I asked to provide any payment info, even as a free trial. I’m assuming that I’ll have to do so after the Weekend is over.

I am a bit miffed about one thing: When I turned on my TV this afternoon and logged on to Apple TV I wasn’t able to pick up watching For All Mankind where I left off last night. Episode 4 would come up on the screen, but then it went to a spinning circle like it wasn’t loading. I was able to pick another show to watch (Schmigadoon is hilarious!). I’ll try again later.

I’ve tried several times and it keeps asking for a credit card which I am not providing. Oh well.

I looked through my little book of big passwords and found that at some point years ago I did have an Apple login. Last night (after midnight) I put in those credentials and got a message that there was a problem with my account. It said the problem would be investigated and it could take a couple days before I heard from them. Great. I’m guessing it will get straightened out around midnight tomorrow. Oh, well.

If you have a different email address, try registering as if for the first time.

I do have an old email account I don’t use. If I don’t hear back from Apple in the next few hours, I’ll see if I can still access that.

I got an email from Apple that access to my account had been denied. No reason given, no info on how to fix that. So I signed up with an old email account, using the code from the app on my TV. I created an account but couldn’t get past the “add payment” screen, which I wasn’t going to do. Finally, I just went back to the TV and opened the app and, lo and behold, I’m in. @Ellecram if you signed up online but are going to watch on TV, maybe this will work for you.

Thank you but I only have access via my PC. It’s fine.

If I want to watch some of the shows I will just buy an apple gift card instead of using my credit card to sign up at some point.

Just no free weekend!

Just buy a new iPhone. You’ll get three months of free Apple TV+ service.

I have android products lol
