Approved Go Fund Me for food pantry

With the permission of the Moderators I would like to bring attention to this GoFundMe for the Hereford House Food Pantry, located in Portland, Oregon. Due to recent break-ins (the windows are now barred) and a need to update and replace refrigerators, freezers, coolers and other items this non-profit, all-inclusive food pantry that has been serving this area for decades could use your help. The GoFundMe page includes a link to the food pantry itself, of course. Thank you.

With both Tanksgiving and Christmas coming up, your help will be greatly appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, please tell others, o.k.?

By the way, you don’t have to say you contributed if you don’t want, but any suggestions will be taken gladly.

I donated.

I clicked too fast to see a GoFundMe surcharge added though. Wasn’t keen about that near 20% extra bit but my fault (if I ever had a choice).

But all for a good cause. I hope the pantry does well.

I will ask my nephew for news about this. He lives in Portland. I will contribute.

The is a link to the pantry’s Facebook page on the Go Fund Me site.

We get periodic threads about “bang for the buck” donations. Food pantries are an excellent example of high-impact donations.

True! Sometimes I go to the free church meals, even though they are for the homeless ( which I used to be).
Its a good cause.

I’m in.

I have a lot of challenges, but food, clothing, and shelter aren’t among them.

I ache to think how many of my fellow Americans (humans, really) struggle for such basic needs.

So far, so good! By the way, I want to personally thank all that have helped out, and if you are ever in Portland your “Thank You” will be personal and in person.

Donated what I could.

And hello from Bend! Sorry things are so rough in Portland these days. Hope the Pantry recovers soon, and hope the locals there can chip in too.

Thank you.

Mr VOW’s family has had ties to the Portland area. When he was a kid, they went to bed hungry many times. A food bank would have made a tremendous difference to them.

Thank you for your much needed help. We’ve raised almost $500 so far!

*over $500.

Some of my first charitable efforts involved food banks. I’m a big fan of direct local help.

Thank you!!

One last bump for a very worthy cause!

I donated and had hoped by this time there would be more. Well, something is better than nothing.

Indeed.
