You are putting words in my mouth, and then getting defensive about them. I did not say there was a specific law about leather goods. I said there was a weird law (which you confirmed in your discussion of Prop 65) and then repeated what the LL Bean representative said.
I’m willing to bet that the aquarium supplies company made the same decision as LL Bean and probably many other companies across the country, that labeling laws for California are too onerous for the amount of business they are likely to do here, and that they would therefore not sell products that require such labeling here.
