Was he considered a “good” Muslim? I ask because his wife is (supposedly) a Christian. Doesn’t the Koran have rules against marrying non-Muslims?

Jimmy Carter’s Peace Prize was tainted. The Nobel Committee announced beforehand that it was awarding the prize to Jimmy, not because of any merits on his part, but because it wanted to poke a stick in George W. Bush’s eye - to repudiate the Bush Doctrine.
If Carter had had any integrity, he would have refused the prize under those terms. But he had lobbied for years to get himself a Peace Prize, and he was all too willing to grab it under any terms, not matter how unseemly.
Carter and Arafat were so close, one would have thought they were fuck-buddies. So, in that sense, I suppose Carter deserved a Nobel Peace Prize as much as Arafat did.
