Austin is a relatively liberal city as Texas goes, but still… while I’ve heard hundreds of anti-French jokes in Texas, I’ve never come across a restaurant in Texas that ever stopped calling fried potatoes “French fries” or that ever stopped using the name “French toast.”
I think a handful of loonies got way more press than they expected or deserved.
