Are green energy companies like Viridian and Glacial really a MLM scam?

I sincerely apologize my friend.

No, it’s advertising - or spamming in internetspeak. And it’s not allowed on this site. If you want to discuss the questions posed in the first post of this thread, go for it. But if you try to use this thread to attract customers or investors, your account will be banned. I’ve deleted your first post and shortened your signature.

This chart continues to be complete bunk: http://www.viridian.com/assets/marke...10_NJ-PSEG.pdf

PSE&G’s rate is about 11.5 cents, and it has been since last October.

http://www.pseg.com/family/pseandg/tariffs/electric/prior_etariffs_bpunj15.jsp
Click on “effective 8/9/2010.” Search for “Original Sheet No. 75.” The “With SUT” rate includes sales tax. Viridian’s advertised rate DOES NOT include sales tax, so the first number is the one to compare.

BTW, got an offer in the mail from Constellation Energy. 10.1 cents, fixed, for two years, plus a $150 Target gift card.

Wrong. Viridian’s rate includes the SUT. :smack:

We can I find the comp plan for Viridian?

http://www.teamv.net/files/viridian-comp-plan.pdf
They are making some changes soon, but here it is currently.

Thanks for your prompt response to my request! If I have any questions I’ll get back to you.

No problem, smart phones are great for keeping up to date!

Bill # 2 with Viridian Energy as my supplier…ABSOLUTELY no savings at all…They charged me $9.00 more than my Default Utility Supplier…I would really like to see someones personal bill where they are really saving monthly with this company…because all it really seems to be is just talk…smh…

Matt,
why are you still a customer? Why are you not signed up with the amazing, magical company you spoke of earlier? Why stay with a company, and post incomplete bills when there is no problem with switching back?

What are your ulterior motives?

My 3 meters are DEFINITELY saving money, and every one of my customers are, including PSEG customers.

Your game is dead and stinking, switch back or just go away.

@Skargo

I’m still a customer because i wanted to see if maybe it was a 1st month error with yourrr magical company…So take it easy and stop coming at my neck…America Approved Energy isn’t open in the PSE&G market yet, that’s the only reason why i haven’t switched over…what motive could i have besides showing people both sides of Viridian’s claims…you read my story up above…And you say i posted a partial bill…are you aware of what a bill in the PSE&G market even looks like…?:dubious:…i blocked out the top part which shows my account number…the rest of the bill is what all PSEG bills look like…so your attempt to discredit me is… beyond me…

Why don’t you stop getting defensive about it and post a legitimate reason for all to see as to why ones bill could possibly be more than your company advertises…Im already going to switch back before the next cycle because it’s an obvious “no brainer”…So answer my specific question since you obviously know it all, and i will gladly “go away”…

Just wanted to rebut some of the comments:

  1. If the rates go way up after signing up for Viridian service, you can leave without a penalty. You cannot do this with some non-mlm companies. For example, look what WGES did to these customers:

That’s pathetic!

  1. The requirement to “get 15” refers to customers, and not marketing associates. A pyramid requires someone to “put someone under them” in order to make a profit. A marketing company, albeit multilevel, requires the acquisition of customers. The following video on the subject is enlightening, as it compares conventional corporations to multi-level marketing companies to pyramids (now who do you think is a pyramid scheme!)
  1. When comparing energy companies, one should compare apples to apples. Thus, you should look at the all-in prices. For example, in BG&E territory, it was standard offer service @ 0.119 per kWh vs Viridian @ 0.099 per kWh. These all-in prices should include generation charges, transmission and taxes.

  2. If the corporate lawyers at Maryland Public Television and the City of Laurel can approve a MARKETING relationship with Viridian (Yes, they both are MARKETING associates as well as UConn and many more!), then it’s good for me too. Check out the NEWSPAPER article at (this is NOT a press release, which anybody can publish, but an article which was printed on paper and distributed to local subscribers):

I’m not looking for you to sign up and I’m not trying to convince you that I’m right, but I simply do not like inaccurate, emotion-laden postings tarnishing the reputation of a company which has in a short time sold more green energy than most of its competitors - and our Country NEEDS to go green!

I guess the problem is, if it works well, then there WILL be critics!

Please consider the facts before posting your opinions.

I kind of think maybe this thread should be closed?

listen.!..answer my question.!..why would ones bill be more than ur company advertises…!!..my electricity bill with viridian energy is more than my default company would charge me…!..stop falling zombie to the presentation that the company presents u with weekly and…tell me why it is more!..and stop saying"oh you have the right and privilege to switch back whenver u choose…thats not enough for me as a consumer.!..u told me 20-30% off my bill…!..i provided proof that my bill was the first and 2nd month more than my default supplier.!..this is unacceptable…maybe i should contact help me howard on UPN 9…i need answers…!..and u dodging and weaving around the point “associates” is not helping…why is my bill more with Viridan, than my default supplier with my electric provider…!?..tell me…!..

You cut off way more than your address at the top of the bill. You also cut off t “all-in” generation + transmission costs per kWh.

By what I see, your bill is higher because your kWh usage is higher. Your issue is like someone who owned a Ford Taurus and drove it 20 miles a day, then bought a Prius and drove it 40 miles a day and then complained that he is not saving money on gasoline.

If your usage is equal, then you will be paying less.

Nobody should be quoting you exactly how much you will save. Savings are determined by taking a weighted average of the electricity costs over a year. Using that metric, customers in Connecticut and New Jersey HAVE been saving compared to the utility’s standard service option rates.

Post your entire bill - you can use whiteout to hide your address and account number, and then we’ll see the truth.

Final post on this: Viridian today admitted to a billing error in one of its territories. To receive a copy of the notice promising a correction, submit your email address into the form on the right margin of this site:

Why you would kind of think maybe it should be closed? It has been civil, within the rules(mostly but mods have fixed any transgression) and it’s been educational.

I know you are a fellow associate in Viridian, but I think your tactics are questionable here.
I have not once tried to generate any business from this thread, I am just trying to educate about Viridian and their practices, yet you have linked to your site multiple times, and now want people to plug their email in??? How about acting professional and not trying to be greedy for a change?
