Are Horses made in to glue

While i was reading this particular answer i was reminded of a job i had as a student.

My friend Steve and I were working at a factory that made cardboard displays for companies including Kodak etc…

One particular line we were making was for the Body Shop’s endangered species line of cosmetics etc… Geuss what kind of glue we used to keep the cardboard pieces together…yep

Animal glue - mostly made from old or sick farm creatures like sheep!

Sorry Anita I thought that you might like to know!

And the title of Lynn’s science report (on which she got an A+!) was Are horses really made into glue?

I wonder how old the sources are here? Over 4 years ago, the feeding of animal products to other animals was banned here in the UK, because of, you guessed it, BSE. It has only recently, I believe, been banned in Germany because of a rise in the number of cases of non-British cattle related BSE in the German herd. It’s an extremely dangerous policy to follow, not to mention costly in the long run.

I listed most of my sources, and I believe that most of my sources are from the US.

So what do they make dog food out of now?

Although I’ve not read the legislation, I assume it’s applied only to feeding animal products to other animals which have the potential to enter the human food chain. And we’re OK, even if mad dog disease appears, we have a dangerous dogs act…which may be one of the worst pieces of legislation in history, but that’s a different story.
