Are muslims ever NOT "outraged" by something?

Riiiight. That would be the moderate, well-behaved, mind-their-own-business people telling the murderous foaming-at-the-mouth effigy-burning fanatic people to STFU? How often does THAT ever happen? Round here that’s what the police and the army are for, but in much of the middle east they are the people stirring up the trouble.

Almost two years ago, the San Jose Police Chief, who happens to be LDS, joined the Muslims in their month-long fast. In appreciation for that, some Muslim leaders urged Muslims to join the Chief in his curch’s observance of one Fast Sunday. Both events were in the news.

I share your experience. Some of the Muslims I know are guys I served with in the US Navy. They’re US citizens and are proud to server their country in uniform.

Yep. It’s getting tiresome seeing so many gullible people everywhere.

Seems that the Islamists have now vowed to punish the nun’s killers. Not that this is much consolation, but they are at least distancing themselves from this particular murder.

Maybe you will excuse me if I found this part of the quote hard to stomach or interpret the generous way you and some others have.

It would be good if he came back and clarified his meaning as opposed to us attempting to read meaning into his post.

Jim

You know first-hand what that’s like, dontcha Sparky?

… asked by a Muslim columnist for the Independent newspaper in the UK.

Muslim Protests over Durfur

Unfortunately the whole article isn’t publically available but the gist of it is in the above in the context of the ‘outrage’ over the Pope’s words.

Low birth rate?

Oh my, yes! I can imagine his apologetic call to the Danish embassy, offering to pay for their broken windows and admitting how red-faced he was.

I was going to write more, but I can’t, now. I’m too outraged!

I remember that. Mobs of roaming Christians starting riots; burning embassies of secular and non-religious countries; threatening to kill all those involved in the writing, financing, production and distribution of the movie …

Actually there were death threats.

Hey, one of my Art History professors invited our class to come out and picket the film with her and her church group. The annoying part was that she didn’t invite us to view the film and see for ourselves just how deeply offensive it was; she just wanted warm bodies marching outside of the local cinema for maximum effect.
Even the class lick-arses didn’t go in the hopes of getting extra credit.

What’s sad is that there’s really no need for that. His meaning was perfectly clear: all Muslims need to be killed so that the rest of the world can “live in peace.” There’s absolutely no ambiguity in that statement, no differentiation between “good” and “bad” Muslims, and no hint that this would be a monstrous or inhuman course of action. And yet, there are still people trying to spin his post into something marginally acceptable. That’s almost as depressing as the fact that people like Stinkpalm exist in the first place.

What Exit?, you’re a charitable guy, and I’m not being sarcastic. I think Stinkpalm (hey, what an appropriate name) was pretty clear in saying that he wants Muslims eradicated. The “rest of us” part makes it obvious, and there’s zero ambiguity in calling people a “cancer.”

And now a nun has been killed in apparent retaliation for the Pope’s remarks.

I’m afraid I found Stinkpalm’s post to be unequivocally genocidal.

Which I’m sure will be very bad news to this little girl I met last year.

BTW, before anyone beats me to the punch, note that we cannot firmly conclude that this nun was killed out of retaliation. It seems like a likely scenario, but the conclusion remains to be seen.

As far as Islam goes I think the world would be a better place if it didn’t exist. It’d be a better place if it had never existed. Plan and simple. I feel about Islam as 99% of this board feels about Scientology. (I feel that way about nearly all religions FWIW, just most strongly about Islam because it affects me directly). What has the Muslim world contributed to modern society (last 150yrs or so) other than oil and headaches? Jack shit that’s what. I don’t want to hear about all of the discoveries of the Arab world of ancient history. Arab !=Muslim in my book BTW.

I’m not advocating genocide and I’m not going to battle to justify my viewpoint. I’ve been here long enough to know that it’s not worth a meltdown to quell a few peoples curiosity.

Its a good thing we’re not gullible enough to be incited to violence by lying liars.

Saddam Hussein = 9/11
Saddam Hussein is buddies with Osama Bin Laden
Saddam Hussein has WMD and he wants to give them out to all his terrorist friends so that they can kill your little son Joey on his way to school in bumblefuck nowhere.
We should invade Iraq in a pre-emptive invasion to protect little Joey.

The Pope caved, he should never have apologized. why give the radicals any thought they actually have the power to make someone do something? Besides, it sure is fun to watch the news talk about how upset Muslims are about their religion being tainted as “violent” while they burn an effigy of the Pope in the background… good stuff.

Funny how Catholics are not roaming the streets burning mosques because some Muslims burned an effigy of God’s messenger on earth. Wonder how the Muslim world would like Catholics burning an effigy of Mohammed?

While I’m not on board with Stinkpalm, I do think Islam easily has the title of worlds most violent religion, at least for now, and would do well to thin ranks some. Of course the same thing could be said of Catholics a few hundred years ago… bleh, religion is a pain…
