I was reading a old Dope thread on when women should stop wearing bikinis in public. One thing I noticed (and have seen outside the forum) is the notion a woman wearing a one piece only does so because she can’t wear a bikini, as if one pieces are inherently dowdy. Maybe I’m odd but I’ve always thought one pieces are very sexy. If the one piece has an unusual design (cutouts, see through patches, one shoulder) I actually think it’s sexier than a bikini. What do you think? And for the women on the forum, do you ever not wear one pieces because they have a dowdy reputation?
Never.
I wear one pieces because bikinis are shit for swimming, running, jumping and playing in.
Shockingly enough, I don’t wear a swimsuit to be sexy.
(I sound like such an enormous strident feminist asshole right now, don’t I? Sorry, not my intent. I mean, I *do *look sexy in a swimsuit, and I don’t mind that, but that’s not *why *I pick a swimsuit.)
I think they have a sexy and classy appeal in pictures and movies. But they are for lounging around the pool and looking sexy and classy. Can’t do much in them without serious ride up, in my experience. I’ve never had one of those professional speedos and I’m a different size on the bottom than I am on top. I’ll always wear a bikini, even tho I’m maybe at the tail end of my looks good in a bathing suit days. I don’t usually wear any that would be considered sexy anymore. At least that’s not my criteria for purchase. I do own about 20 bikinis.
One-piece suits can be pretty sexy (kinda NSFW)
Don’t ask me how that thing is not falling off.
I think they’re quite fetching.
Thanks,** zoid**! I really need to see that this time of night!
(You’re my best friend, ever!)
It’s probably glued or taped on. Google bikini + glue; there’s apparently a variety of glues and two sided adhesive tape meant for keeping precarious feminine clothing from falling off.
The only place I ever see those trashy things is in Second Life. =P
You & me both.
Sorry boys but I’m a person, not a pet.
My goal in life isn’t to parade around & put my appearance before comfort.
(Hell, most of the guys at the beach aren’t worth parading around for, except for those muscular hotties! )
It’s pretty much the same issue as in the men’s underwear/swim trunks thread: modesty & comfort.
Sometimes a one piece can be as sexy as a bikini. After all, it’s called sexual tension, not sexual saturation.
High cut on the hips, low cut on the boobs is sexy.
Sporty is sexy.
A single colour is sexy.
A combination of all three is undeniably sexy.
But it’s got to be at least one of those, I don’t find other designs all that sexy.
Yuck, looks trashy (not to mention utterly impractical) to me and not at all sexy.
I still own a bikini, but haven’t worn it in several years because I am closer to 60 than 50 and it seems…unseemly. Anyhow, my one-piece is more comfortable and functional (you never see competitive swimmers in bikinis, right?) and at my age I don’t give a shit if anyone thinks I look “sexy.”
Also, turning the tables, I don’t think there has ever been a time in my life that I thought a man wearing (links possibly NSFW) teensy weensy swimwear was attractive. “Creepy” and “trying much too hard” (heh) is more like it, but I guess women view that sort of thing differently.
I only have one exception to that, and it’s competitive divers in midjump. But at that point they’d look good in anything other than a Big Bird suit.
Ah, you’re right! I was thinking of female swimmers or divers. Some of the men are pretty hot.
Hmm. When a poster in a thread compares or contrasts something with Hitler or the Nazis, they are said to have Godwinized the thread. (It goes on to say that they have just forfeited whatever point they were trying to make.)
I wonder if one could come up with a term for when, in a thread such as this, a poster chimes in with some variation of “I’m a person, not a body?” Can it not be determined from the thread title “Are one pieces sexy?” that discussions of swimsuits and their inherent sexiness will be forthcoming? Is this not something which adult human beings can discuss in MPSIMS? Must we always be reminded that “I’m a person not a pet?” This from a poster who goes on to note that it is only the muscular hotties for whom they consider it worth their time to parade around on the beach. Also, let it be known that I have never in my life owned a pet I considered to be sexy.
My opinion is that bikinis are sexy, one-pieces are sexy and no-pieces are sexy. That is just my bent, however, and I wouldn’t dream of imposing it on anyone. Thank you.
Addendum : Honestly, chiroptera. The swimsuit Borat wore? Yikes!
The OP asked, “And for the women on the forum, do you ever not wear one pieces because they have a dowdy reputation?”
Of course the discussion will include whether people find one pieces sexy. But there was more content to the OP than the title. There are many reasons why women may not wear one pieces without “dowdy reputation” being one of them.
Of course, one reason why some people, at some times may not wear two pieces is precisely because they tend to be sexualized and objectified when they do, and that’s perfectly cromulent discussion material, too. Unless you wanted this to be a fap thread, in which case, sorry to kill your erection, but this isn’t the website for that. There are plenty of others that are.
Sitting on a beach, gazing at the Caribbean, drinking from a bucket of beers, anything is sexy.
I leave sexy to the Cute Young Things.
It would be unfair to them if I wore a bikini. I mean, a whip-smart adult woman in a bikini? Overload!!!
(I jest. I wear a tankini because no one needs to see my tummy. And I’m tired of it getting sunburnt.)
Nah, it’s all good. Last trip to the Caribbean I remember something like this; it’s all good.
I’ve struck up a conversation with the older woman in the bikini, only to have her grand-daughter come over, roll a j, and hang out a while. It’s all good.
