Are other marsupials as poor transmission vectors as the New World opossum?

It’s well documented that the rabies virus does rather poorly in the opossum, commonly believed that the rabies virus does not thrive well in the somewhat lower body temperature. The info on other marsupials is less obvious.

(And while we’re at it, how about birds? The savants say that reptiles can’t possibly get rabies. Does that include birds (being dinosaurs, that is)?)

Rabies seems to be pretty much nonexistent in Australia, so maybe not much data on the susceptibility of other marsupials.

Rabies is found exclusively in mammals and one chicken in India.
