Like I said upthread I’m in Bangkok where theres masses amounts of stray cats and dogs. I’d say that the cats and dogs do about equally leaving on the streets, but that is they both have equally miserable lives. They both scavenge from garbage, beg, and have parasites and other diseases, open wounds from fighting and commonly die by getting hit by cars or motorbikes.
If you mean in the wild, I’d say that depends on the dog breed, something like a terrier would probably do just fine catching small rodents, lizards, etc. A poodle, not so much.
