This is basically how I see it. I think that the stereotype of pitbulls as a scary, dangerous breed just makes them more appealing to this type of person.
Another problem is that many people in general don’t know or care enough to teach their dogs proper obedience. That’s not that big of a deal with a misbehaving toy poodle, but it can cause deadly tragedies when a large, powerful dog like a pit bull hasn’t been trained.
I don’t think there is anything innate in pitbulls that makes them bad dogs. They are just a breed that is often mistreated by the idiots of the world.
