b] Ace of Spades** tell me something- are actors generally thought to be “liberal” or “conservative” by Democrats? What about sports figures and musicians? I see them as being predominately “liberal”, but since I’m a Republican, but I admit a bias; to me it seemed that they came out of the woodwork to support Gore. So I’d like your opinion on that, given you’re obviously a liberal yourself, and may well have a less biased opinion on the matter of whether or not the majority of them belong to your party.
The thing I am wondering about is that there are a hell of a lot of entertainers who make over your cited $250,000 a year. Surely not 281,000 of them (based on US population being 281 million according to the 2000 US census), but a not insignificant number of them. Some of them, as the TVguide reported in an article last week(which unfortunately is a shortened version of the magazine article) called " TV’s Richest Stars", made more than that amount in a week never mind a year.
So I am to assume that Katie Couric, David Letterman, the entire cast of Friends, Jerry Seinfeld, Anthony Edward, Tim Allen, Drew Carey, Oprah Winfrey, Ozzy Ozborne, Diane Sawyer, Matt Lauer, Ray Romano, Kelsey Grammer, Jay Leno, Susan Lucci, Conan O’Brian- who are just the richest of the rich, in addition to hundreds if not thousands of professional sports players and musicians, and every less well paid actor who is still paid over $250,000 a year are card carrying Republicans, right? I mean, they’re all within that wealthiest 1% so they must be. I think quite a few of them would be surprised that they’re conservatives based on their income.
Or did you have a cite somewhere to prove that the majority of people who are within the evil top 1% income bracket are actually Republicans? If not, I think you might be interested in adding to this thread instead. **
