Who ever is in charge of 1920sstyledeath-ray.com needs to add that link. ANd most of the other history from this thread
I expect that one of the 700+ prior posts has brought this up, but just in case, you may want to research a book that was popular with conspiracy theorists (not to imply that it lacks credibility- I found it an interesting read);
Angels Don’t Play This HAARP! Advances In Tesla Technology
U. S. Government’s Ground-Based “Star Wars” Weapon: High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program
Author Dr. Nick Begich, M.D.
The U.S. Government has a new, ground-based “Star Wars” weapon which is being tested in the remote bush country of Alaska. This new system is intended to heat and lift a portion of the ionosphere above a selected location on the planet in order to make a huge invisible “mirror” for bouncing electromagnetic radiation back to the surface of Earth. The U.S. Military claims HAARP is designed to communicate with submerged submarines and to penetrate the land with ELF (extremely low frequency) waves to search for hidden tunnels or other sites of military interest. What else can HAARP technology do? It can, according to author Nick Begich:
(1) shield a territory from interconnentinental ballistic missles,
(2) fry satellites,
(3) disrupt communications over a large area of the globe,
(4) change the chemical structure of the upper atmosphere and possibly alter the weather,
(5) affect human mental functioning, and
(6) generally impact the health of humans and other biological systems in negative ways.
(7) microwave a burrito (okay, I made this one up).

Bingo
Bingo Plebney, I linked to that earlier in the thread. I’ve heard interviews with Begich, and he seems the least paranoid of the whackos, but I still have my doubts. I’d like someone with the necessary engineering degrees to weigh in on the matter.
To answer the question, no, ‘scalar weapons’ are not real. They belong in the realm of Chemtrails and Mind Control.
You know, at some point, an advanced alien civilization is going to find this thread and say, “WTF?”.
More like “Where can we find such stylish Weapons that fire suh leatal rays?”
Because, of course, they’d be speaking in an alien language.

Man I need to start posting AFTER that first cup of coffee.

Any chance that Golden will come?
He’s looking for his stormtrooper costume.
I just found a citation to the Zotti Death Ray in action. Wielded by none less than the Loyal Sidekick of Our Master, Cecil Adams.
Is Golden any relation to Dan Golden, former director of NASA? I’ve met him. To think I may have met a relative of one of the great innovators. Wow!
Doubtful, as I think the NASA guy spells his last name Goldin.
In addition, Golden is a historian and journalist, not a “great innovator”.

Wow, someone with under 5 posts spawned a thread with over 750 posts in it, that can’t happen to often.
This just hit me last night. Preston Tucker died under rather mysterious circumstances. Tucker had been diagnosed with lung cancer and since standardized medical treatments of the time could do nothing for him, he went to Brazil, where previously he had met a Dr. William F. Koch who had what was claimed to be a miraculous treatment for cancer. Koch, like Tucker, had been hounded by the Feds when he was practicing in the states, so Koch packed up and moved to Brazil.
Tucker underwent treatment in Brazil at Dr. Koch’s clinic. Then, finding Brazil’s climate not to his liking, Tucker, against Dr. Koch’s advice, returned home to Ypsilanti, MI. Tucker was fine for awhile (though he did have some problems on the flight home), but then fell ill. He was taken to the hospital, where he seemed to improve, but his condition later worsened, and he finally died. The official cause of death is pneumonia, not cancer. When the family asked for the test results which had been ran on Tucker to see if he had cancer, the hospital refused to divulge them. One of Tucker’s sons managed to sneak a peek at the test results, which he claimed showed no trace of cancer. When the family confronted the doctors about this, the doctors said that the tests were inconclusive and that the only way to be certain was an autopsy, which they refused to perform. The family, being nearly destitute at this time (Tucker had to borrow the money to travel to Brazil for treatment), couldn’t afford to pay to have an independant autopsy done.
So, my questions are:
Does anyone know who this Dr. Koch was?
What were the whereabouts of Tucker’s rivals (as far as death rays go) in late 1956?
How likely is it that one of them would be willing to murder to stay ahead of Tucker? (The rumors about the design he was working on are simply amazing, even if only half true!)
Does anyone know the location of Tucker’s research papers? (The family doesn’t have them, nor are they in the official Tucker Archives.)
-
I don’t know.
-
There were around 30 or so death ray makers active in the US at that point, the biggest five of which were (in this order) Electro, Consolidated, North American, Rochester, and Harcourt. Due to the (relative) largeness in number, it is impossible to answer this.
-
Of these companies, North American had a deal with him, Rochester and Harcourt were a little too small, Consolidated had openly rejected an offer of his in 1955, and Electro’s chairman of the board had actually offered him a contract on his deathbed. None of them had anything to gain.
-
As I said a couple of pages ago, the papers relating to Tucker Death Rays were stolen in the early 1960’s, by either Dr. Carlin or one of the Barrises. The Tucker plans aren’t in the Carlin archives at Columbia or the CH Barris archives at Drexel, so they must be still in their private possession.
(BTW, in 1956, James Carlson was still Chairman of the Board at Electro, and Consolidated Death Rays gave their contract to Professor Calvin, instead of Preston Tucker.)
Tuckerfan, where are you?
Working 66 hours a week and going to school for 16 hours a week, why?
Forgot that you mentioned that the papers were in unknown hands.
I’m a bit tired at the moment, but there’s something rumbling around in my brain about Tucker having an argument with someone. The author of Tucker’s bio seems to think that it was Tucker’s Brazillian backers, but I’m not so sure. Still, it’s a bit of a mystery to me why some of Tucker’s design plans never have appeared. I’m wondering if there isn’t someone out there selling them on the black market.
