Found this today, blogged about it, then realized that I simply had to let the SDMB know about it. An artist in Longview, WA, has built a beautiful 1920’s style death ray. It operates and everything – see the video on his site. On top of that, it’s for sale.

Perhaps, but I believe it was the TRIPPPLE post to that thread that started the legend. 'course, that was back when we still thought scalar weapons were for real.
