It’s hard to say. Miller didn’t write in code, so much as he disguised portions of his life by changing names, locations and dates of events. So you have to dig through that to figure out where he was and what (or who) he was doing at the time, and then you can start looking at things like death rays and such. I haven’t come across anything indicative of the Zotts other than this statement about working for Electrolux
Bizarre behaviour, I think. No idea why he would suddenly plunk this statement down in the middle of his novel, completely out of the blue.

Well in response to #3, I decided to adopt a somewhat cavalier attitude to this extremely vital topic. Why? Well this thread was going to die at posting #1000 right?
Since it hasn’t met its announced cyber demise, I believe it was due to the valiant efforts of the last few “dopers” who pretended the topic was inconsequential in order to deceive the moderators into thinking this whole thing was a joke. The moderators knew that we were getting close - yes maybe too close to the truth !!
It was risky enough to mention the involvement of the Harding administration. Calvin Coolidge’s part in this is even more sinister but it’s too dangerous to mention those details just yet. Not until we have convinced the moderators just how “unimportant” this topic really is. Yes, what an astoundingly “inane” dicussion this has been.
