I mean, the OP is talking about “fate” but it is also specifically in the context of suicide, so it’s not obvious that a standard debate on free will is what’s desired.
(If it were, why is the OP not phrased more generally?).

Well, the topic of this thread isn’t just it’s thread title. :slight_smile: The OP raised three points, one of which is getting little debate, and the second of which has both generated debate and is specific to suicide. (I’ve weighed in on that topic myself.) But regarding the third point, which relates to fate, I don’t see any way of discussing it except as it relates to the question of free will in general. Well, unless you define ‘fate’ as only being meaningful in hindsight, in which case the answer is a trivial ‘yes’, but without any significant implications whatsoever.
