It seems to me that mods have been more in the “circle the wagons” mode when they make mistakes than they used to be, and that at least some mods don’t take criticism of their mod behavior kindly. It seems some of them would rather treat posters badly than admit to an error.

So it will not surprise me if some mod comes along and says there is something wrong with this discussion (more double-talk is what I would expect) and the thread will be closed and the subject ruled off limits.

How long are posts in this thread going to demand that a warning that was rescinded hours go be rescinded?

No formal betting is allowed on the Straight Dope site. Not for fun, not for charity, not for argument, not for any purpose whatsoever.

In the past this was only a rule in the Great Debates and Politics/Elections forums. But now it applies everywhere.

Because of the limited application of the rule prior to today, the warning for UltraVires will be rescinded.

This was posted 5 hours ago and TubaDiva posted the same information in the Chronos and Betting thread around the same time.
