Just watched the first Resident Evil again, partially inspired by this thread (though it’s actually been sitting on my coffee table waiting to be watched for a couple of weeks).
A thoroughly fun way to spend 90 minutes, and does a decent job of feeling somewhat like watching someone else playing a video game.

It’s really the only part I remember in the movie.
I’ve seen them all, and two of them I saw in theaters. Worth watching if you ask me.
Not only were the movies terrible, but it doesn’t help that your experience with the RE franchise involves playing only the best game in the series, which is also one of my favorite games of all time.
In short, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.
Oh, and the CG in the first one is terrible.
The Fifth Element is great too.
